Eastern Promises..

Last Saturday,
After The Long and Torturing 2 slot of law class,
My dear and I, along with Edgar and Yee Piao went decided to went for a movie in pyramid..
I wanted to watch Sweeney Todd, as I like musical movies though, like ' Sound of the Music' perhaps?
But the 3 of them wanted to watch another movie besides that,
Maybe guys ain't into musical, most probably would fall asleep during the movie I guess,

Anyways,
At first was thinking of watching Rambo 4,
Then, when we were about to reach our turn to the counter,
Edgar changed his mind, wanting to watch a thriller movie, 'Eastern Promises'
A Russian Movie..

Overall this movie is fine,
But alot of scenes that really gets on my nerves though,
Plus, the whole cinema is only occupied by the four of us!!!
Booked the whole cinema eh!! loLx.
Maybe not much publicity about it,
Total revenue for that slot, RM 44..

Maybe its freaky also because there is only four of us and no one else,
And sorry Yee Piao, he is holding on the whole movie,
As there as scenes with sexuality, nudity, violance, and languages though,
Pity him actually..

And surprisingly to know,
It receives certain number of awards and nomination..

Eastern Promises won the Audience Prize for best film on September 15, 2007 at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film received 3 Golden Globe nominations for the 65th Golden Globe Awards, winning none. Eastern Promises was nominated for Best Motion Picture - Drama. Viggo Mortensen was nominated for Best Performance By An Actor In A Motion Picture - Drama. And Howard Shore was nominated for Best Original Score for a Motion Picture.

The film was nominated in five different categories in the British Independent Film Awards for 2007, and won in one category, gaining a Best Performance by an Actor in a British Independent Film award for Mortensen.

Mortensen was also nominated for Best Actor at the 80th Academy Awards, but he told the Associated Press, "If there's a strike I will not go.", a reference to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike.

I guess its because there is only four of us watching, after the movie is over, the crew isn't around to open the door for us, pity ha?
Or else, will really feel like royal member that booked the whole cinema layed with red carpets and door open just for us!!! =)
